'The Byre' at Osdale Farmhouse
Enter the byre through the huge five meter door space, flanked on the sides by Glass panels and framed in massive green oak pillars, downstairs is mainly open plan - underfloor heating and ceramic tiles mean warm feet! And no need to worry about boots and dog paw marks.
The kitchen is modern with a corner unit for sitting round the generous pine table, big enough to extend to 8 people if you are entertaining, cooking is with dual gas/electric so you can use the oven on automatic and go away walking for the day, knowing your meal will be waiting for you on return.
The sitting area is snug with a tall woodburning stove as a focal point which even has a crown of flowers on top! There is also a Tv, DVD and CD player should the weather be unkind and you have to stay indoors. The ground floor also has a twin bedded room with en-suite shower and toilet, the windows in this room look out onto the hillside.
Stairs lead from the sitting room up to a small landing with window, from here you can look across the douglas fir ties in the roof space of the full height sitting room and out through the window onto the surrounding countryside, then through into the main double bedroom, this room has two windows, one looking over the fields and the other arched window looking down towards Dunvegan ; where else can you wake up in the morning and see exactly the state of tide as you have your morning cup of tea?
The main bathroom is downstairs with a huge 1.8m bath for a good soak to loosen up stiffened joints after a long walk and perhaps enjoy a book and a glass of wine ! Basin and toilet are here as well.
There is a utility area with washing machine and tumbler dryer and an area to hang wet weather gear boots etc, this leads out of the back door where there is a sheltered area from the prevailing wind to sit and admire the view over the Loch and watch the sheep on their daily trips up and down the hills.
